We want our children to acquire a "taste for God's grace" by creating an environment where He will take hold of their lives and prepare them for a life of service. Here are some of the ways we do this.

Sunday Morning Worship:

  • Nursery (0-12 months, meets in room at bottom of stairs, just after entering the front doors of the church, on the lower level)
  • See & Know Toddlers (12-36 months, meets in the classroom adjoining the nursery)
  • Children's Church (3 yrs-kindergarten, meets downstairs) & KFC ("Kids For Christ," 1st-5th grade, meets in the Chapel in the East Wing, upper level) - Preparation for lifelong worship.
  • Family Worship - Every last Sunday of the month all families sit together in worship.

Sunday School Classes for children of all ages meet during the second hour, from 11:00-11:50 a.m. Look for an usher or the color-coded directions on the walls downstairs!

On Wednesday nights, 6:45-8:00pm, our children play a game, have a lesson time, and sing some songs. Right now they're learning the Old Testament Books and memorizing scripture. We also have a Handbell Choir and a (vocal) choir for the kids.

Some other regular events are VBS (last year we had over 80 different kids!), Summer Camp, Easter Egg Hunt, Fall Festival (Halloween alternative), Jesus' Birthday Party, Christmas Nativity Reenactment (the kids get to play dress up and act out the story), and a baseball game, to name a few.

We also take our children's education seriously and believe that raising intelligent, well-rounded kids is spiritual work! So we have a great Children's Library with books and videos that any child can check out. They can also just hang out in the Children's Library and do some reading or viewing on the couches!

The curricular Scope and Sequence for our Children's Ministry includes the weekly Bible story, theme, and memory verse that all of our children learn in their age appropriate class. If you have any questions about this document please call the church office.
